As a Frontend Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team that operates at the intersection of product and engineering, data, and performance optimization. Your contributions will directly impact TikTok, the world's most downloaded app, by designing and implementing innovative user experiences and performance enhancements. In this role, you will collaborate closely with talented backend, product, and data teams to develop and ship new features that enhance user experience and performance data visualizations on TikTok. You will be responsible for building world-class frontends that incorporate data visualizations for big data, utilizing a deep web tech stack while ensuring elegance, performance, reusability, and maintainability. Additionally, you will optimize the TikTok web app, particularly focusing on video player performance by leveraging advanced video codecs, transcoding, and machine learning strategies. Your commitment to promoting robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment will be essential. As part of the Multimedia Arch team, you will also engage in front-end research and development, sharing your expertise and perspectives to help the team grow.
