About The Position

Grand Canyon University is a private Christian university located in Phoenix, Arizona. The College of Arts and Media offers exciting opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach part-time, face-to-face instruction at our Phoenix campus. Courses are in-person and on-campus for the Spring 2026 semester (01/05/2026 - 04/26/2026). The course being offered is Front-End Development for Web Design, where students learn web design production and development, focusing on web layouts, style, artistic quality, performance, navigation, and accessibility using HTML and CSS. The course aims to develop a core foundation in HTML and CSS, with an understanding of JavaScript.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, public relations, communications or an equivalent degree in the visual arts.
  • A Master’s degree and 3 or more years’ experience in the design industry is preferred.
  • Skills in User Experience, User Interface Design, HTML and CSS.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Experience Design, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and a Text Editor such as Sublime text, BB Edit, Coda, etc.
  • A portfolio of current work examples is required with the application to teach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in teaching or educational settings.
  • Familiarity with the latest web design trends and technologies.
