By The Hand is a not for profit, religious organization. Individuals employed by By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching. Position Title: Front Door Coordinator (Part-Time, Non-Exempt) Overview of Position Reports to the Site Director and serves as the greeter for one of the six By the Hand Club sites. This individual is an integral member of the site team it serves. The Front Door Coordinator works primarily during program hours, supervising the entrance to a By the Hand Club site and managing the flow of traffic in and out of the building. He/she is knowledgeable of the students, staff and volunteers of the site and maintains good relationships while ensuring safety policies are followed.

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience using Google Suite (Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
  • Must be fluent in Spanish (North Austin Site only).

Responsibilities

  • Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
  • Models the cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
  • Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
  • Participates in employee growth plans, including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings.
  • Manages all parent pick-ups between the site team to an approved guardian.
  • Ensures 100 percent of adults in the building are approved volunteers or expected visitors.
  • Immediately informs Site Director or Assistant Site Director of any unapproved or unannounced visitors.
  • Reports safety issues to the proper authority immediately, and files a written record of any incidents involving police within 24 hours of the event.
  • Ensures lobby “welcome area” is set up and orderly before, during, and after By the Hand Club programming (sets up and tears down if needed).
  • Monitors students entering the site and signs in late arrivals.
  • Keeps and reports on the attendance of volunteers.
  • Upholds a secure environment by tactfully addressing everyone who enters the building.
  • Greets visitors, volunteers, and partners and ensures they understand where they are going and what is expected upon arrival.
  • Know where to access basic first aid supplies, how to administer them, and when to report injuries to the Site Director.
  • Ensure an up-to-date understanding of all events relevant to one’s site.
  • Completes, implements, and reviews personal development plan with supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
