About The Position

Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Position Summary: To manage the front desk and provide customer service to guests and visitors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or 3+ years’ experience
  • 3+ Years in a customer service, administrative or service industry role
  • Working knowledge: Multi phone line, copier, scanner, and other office equipment
  • General knowledge: Strong communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge: Microsoft office and specifically outlook
  • Comprehensive knowledge: Microsoft office and the ability to learn new software platforms quickly
  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to such things as, climbing stairs, standing, stooping, & typing
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs

Responsibilities

  • Provide great customer service and information to all participants, guests, employees and partners.
  • Answer or direct incoming calls, voicemails, and messages to the appropriate staff.
  • Ensure that all visitors sign in and out.
  • Ensure that all visitors are desired by the program they claim to be visiting before allowing them in the building.
  • Maintain and update building calendar to confirm activities and direct visitors appropriately.
  • Assist with facilitating space-use of classrooms to community members during normal business hours.
  • Bring emergency or significant issues to the attention of Facilities Manager.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the glass doors, vestibule and reception area.
  • Sort and distribute packages and mail.
  • Maintain a written logbook and document all incidents via use of incident report forms.
  • Monitor and respond to all fire and emergency systems.
  • Monitor and control building access according to procedures. Ensure all entrance doors are locked at the end of the business day.
  • Enter payables into accounts receivable system.
  • Any other duties assigned by Management.
