About The Position
The Front Desk Team Member plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment at the gym, serving as the first point of contact for members, guests, and staff. This position is responsible for greeting and directing individuals as they enter the facility, ensuring a positive and friendly atmosphere. The Front Desk Team Member will assist with various member requests and inquiries regarding gym operations and policies, while also performing administrative duties as assigned by the Gym General Manager. The role requires a proactive approach to customer service, ensuring that each member and guest feels valued and attended to promptly. In addition to greeting members and guests, the Front Desk Team Member will manage the security and control of the front door and retail area, ensuring that all individuals entering the gym are properly checked in. This includes monitoring check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notifying management as necessary. The team member will also register guests using established procedures and direct them to the appropriate personal trainer in a professional manner. Effective communication is key, as the team member will utilize the gym's phone system to answer calls, take messages, and follow up on inquiries. Maintaining a neat appearance and adhering to uniform standards is essential while on duty. The Front Desk Team Member will also be responsible for distributing keys, towels, and other materials, processing retail and concession sales, and ensuring that the cooler and retail inventory are fully stocked. Attendance at staff meetings is required, and the team member will be expected to clean and maintain the front desk area according to company standards. Additionally, they will log maintenance concerns, report safety issues, and notify management of any incidents that require documentation. The role may also involve assisting with membership sales, handling account changes, and supporting members with class registrations via the gym app. Overall, the Front Desk Team Member is integral to the gym's operations, contributing to a positive member experience and supporting the overall success of the facility.
