About The Position

This position will be assigned to Urgent Care during Monday - Friday 10:30 am - 7:30 pm. The valuable final product of the Front Office Specialist is to provide exceptional customer service, to ensure that our patients arrive for their appointments, to ensure that our patients arrive on time, and to contribute to the financial success of the company by collecting appropriate co-insurance and co-payments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, billing, charges and collections
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Track record of exceptional customer service
  • Front Desk experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new work environments and personnel

Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of exceptional customer service by continually exceeding our patients expectations, properly maintaining and cultivating positive relationships with patients, therapists, referring offices, and fellow employees.
  • Properly maintain and manage daily schedules of clinics, ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and therapists are blocked off correctly.
  • Ensure proper information is obtained from the patient, including identification, patient history, insurance information, and consent to treat.
  • Be the first friendly face or voice that patients come into contact with, providing a pleasant and personable experience.
  • Follow all money handling procedures, collecting co-pays and co-insurances from patients, and creating a deposit for the bank.
  • Track the numbers of referring physicians and determine whether they are new or existing referrals.
  • Manage patient accounts, including medical record requests, charge corrections, and handling simple patient billing concerns.
