About The Position

In addition to Front Desk Specialist (FDS) duties, the Senior Front Desk Specialist will play a key role in onboarding as well as ongoing training of new and existing FDS staff both through demonstration and on-the-floor training. This role compliments the Front Line Supervisor by supporting patient flow through the clinic to ensure compliance with Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent to High School graduation or GED.
  • Minimum two years experience as Front Desk Specialist lead or floater with experience training new hires
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; Spanish is a plus
  • Maintains active CEE certification
  • Frequent travel between sites for coverage and special events
  • Maintain high level of accuracy as well as respect and confidentiality in handling all patient information.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities for tasks, to work effectively in spite of interruptions and under minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong verbal and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner; excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to individuals representing a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Covid-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment as required by State law. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as FDS and cover all sites as needed to meet business necessity or fill in for staff shortages and/or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Act as a liaison and patient advocate when necessary; collaborate with various departments, including PES, Medical and Pharmacy, to maintain smooth patient flow.
  • Works closely with supervisor to address and resolve patient grievances.
  • Support supervisor by collecting and reconciling patient co-payments made by cash or check.
  • Monitor FDS workloads and patient flow and redistribute work assignments as needed.
  • Various administrative duties including scheduling for pre-registration and huddles.
  • Provides feedback, mentors, and helps contribute to FDS’s professional development.
  • Manage registration for all outreach events.
  • Support training and onboarding of new hires and serve as mentor to FDS for training needs.
  • Serves as Epic Superuser by supporting end users and educate staff on system upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
