About The Position

The Front Desk Retail Sales Associate ensures an exceptional customer experience by greeting, acknowledging, and assisting guests upon arrival. This role serves as the first point of contact for walk-in and call-in customers, helping identify their needs, answering product questions, and recommending appropriate solutions before referring them to the correct internal department. The associate must stay current on Summertown Metals of Hopkinsville products and services and maintain a professional, organized, and visually appealing store front.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism in all customer and peer interactions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, card reader, and other front-desk equipment.
  • Willingness to adapt to new sales strategies and implement fresh marketing approaches.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Odoo V16, ClickUp, or similar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly, assess needs, and provide friendly, efficient service in a busy environment.
  • Maintain a self-starter attitude while processing sales transactions with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Summertown Metals of Hopkinsville products, services, and pricing.
  • Stay up to date on merchandise, including new and seasonal products.
  • Process card and cash transactions; create accurate invoices, quotes, and receipts.
  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly sales goals while advising customers on product options and add-on sales.
  • Close sales and process all payments efficiently.
  • Develop leads and referrals through strong customer engagement and follow-up.
  • Create a personal marketing plan for improving in-person and phone-based sales performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked store front area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
