About The Position

The Front Desk Representative is responsible for greeting patients, performing check-in procedures, and maintaining current demographic and insurance information in both the computer system and patient charts. The role includes performing office opening procedures, balancing petty cash, collecting co-pays and co-insurance, and assisting patients as needed. The primary focus is on servicing patients in the lobby, with backup support for phones and other front office personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years experience in a healthcare background
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of computer systems and programs
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to express compassion and kindness to patients
  • Ability to maintain a professional and upbeat attitude
  • Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations
  • Ability to work effectively with medical staff, management, authorizations, external agencies, and patients
  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment
  • Ability to work in a busy office environment with much patient contact
  • Occasional evening or weekend work
