About The Position

True Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is an Alabama-based dermatology practice specializing in skin cancer surgery, reconstruction, prevention, and medical dermatology. Led by Dr. Raj Patel, a double board-certified, fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, the practice focuses on delivering the highest quality care with precision and confidence.     Our team has an immediate need for a Front Desk/Medical Receptionist.  Medical Receptionists are the first point of administrative contact for patients in the office, performing various essential office functions such as greeting, scheduling, and checking patients in and out for their appointments.

Requirements

  • Education - This position requires a High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience – 1 -2 years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Communication – Excellent oral communication skills; effective communication.
  • Work Style - Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed—the ability to analyze and interpret information, and interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to the Credo and Service Goals and Values, always providing exceptional customer service.
  • Greets and welcomes patients upon arrival for their appointments.
  • Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by ensuring the collection of all necessary documentation for treatment, and accurately collects and applies payments for services and products.
  • Answers the phone in a polite, consistent manner, using proper telephone etiquette; directs calls as necessary.
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying clinical staff of arrivals, monitoring delays, communicating with patients and clinical staff, and checking patients in and out for their appointments.
  • Keeps office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs and monitoring office equipment.
  • Learns new products and maintains an accurate inventory of all items.
  • Ensures a positive patient experience through excellent customer service.
  • Verifies patient health benefits with approved healthcare companies.
  • Sends out and receives medical records and referrals for patient care.
  • Keeps the reception area clean and organized.
  • Works in a team environment to accomplish everyday tasks in a collegial manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
