About The Position

As a Front Office Patient Financial Services Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our facility. This role involves working with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure a positive experience for patients. You will coordinate patient flow, answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide registration of patient and insurance information. Your responsibilities will also include verifying insurance coverage, collecting patient liability, and providing financial guidance to maximize reimbursement efforts. This position is perfect for those starting their careers or those with extensive experience in the field.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • Knowledge of patient financial services or insurance industry processes, typically acquired over one or more years of work experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

  • Work experience with the Company's systems and processes.
  • Previous cash collections experience.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform registration/check-in processes, including data entry activities and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Verify insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered and document appropriately.
  • Calculate and collect patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits.
  • Enter payments/charges for services rendered and perform daily payment/charge reconciliation.
  • Schedule office visits and procedures within the medical practice and confirm patient appointments.
  • Demonstrate proactive interpersonal communication skills while dealing with patient concerns.
  • Assist in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies.
  • Provide a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow, including escorting patients and taking vitals.
  • Work independently under regular supervision in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
