About The Position

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Front Desk Manager for The Richardson Hotel, Buffalo, NY. The Front Desk Manager responds in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests by providing accurate and timely information and services. This role involves managing and motivating all Front Office personnel, ensuring adherence to service and productivity standards, and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction. The manager will also handle guest complaints, oversee room reservations, and prepare financial reports, among other responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-year previous supervisory experience in the hotel industry, preferably at the front desk.
  • 6 months experience as a front desk agent.
  • Previous experience with Opera Cloud preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computational and computer skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and local attractions.
  • Ability to stand and exert mobility for up to 4 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to arriving, departing and in-house guests with accurate and timely information and services.
  • Manage and motivate Front Office personnel including staffing, training, discipline, and scheduling.
  • Receive and resolve all departmental guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Check and control room reservations and Front Office systems.
  • Compile and prepare financial reports including rate and availability calendar.
  • Communicate with guests and employees both verbally and in writing.
  • Organize and conduct meetings to disseminate pertinent information.
  • Implement and monitor corporate marketing programs.
  • Perform room inspections and assist in check-in/check-out of guests.
  • Supervise the operations of the front desk to ensure optimal service and hospitality.
  • Train and direct the work of front desk team members.
  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival and register them into the system.
  • Accept payment for guest accounts and maintain a house bank.
  • Respond promptly to guest complaints and inquiries.
  • Assist guests with luggage and provide local area information.
  • Handle messages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes properly.
  • Participate in Manager on Duty program and monitor hotel operations.
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company.
