About The Position

Front Office Check-In / Check-Out Representative Coastal Health is a leading provider of quality healthcare services, dedicated to offering exceptional care and a supportive work environment. We are currently seeking a motivated and career-oriented Front Office Check-In / Check-Out Representative to join our team! The Front Office Representative plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by managing check-in and check-out procedures, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate patient records and accounts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in scheduling, word processing, and general office software.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and over the phone, providing excellent customer service.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently to optimize provider availability and treatment room use.
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate delays to providers when necessary.
  • Answer patient inquiries and help ease anxieties, maintaining a calm and welcoming reception area.
  • Maintain and update patient records and accounts with accurate personal and financial information.
  • Collect co-pays, balance, and assist with billing and credit policies as needed.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment by monitoring inventory and ordering as necessary.
  • Assist during patient emergencies by following established protocols.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are always maintained.
  • Follow office policies and procedures, and recommend improvements where applicable.
  • Collaborate with team members to support overall office efficiency and patient satisfaction.
