About The Position

The Front Desk Associate at Great Smokies Inn is responsible for managing guest interactions at the front desk, including check-ins and check-outs, room reservations, and providing information about hotel services and local attractions. This role serves as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Three to twelve months of employment in a related guest relations position.
  • Excellent computer and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Sociable, outgoing, and guest service-oriented demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Handle guest registration and room assignments.
  • Provide quotes for room rates and upsell services to guests.
  • Accommodate special requests and collect payments for charges.
  • Verify registration cards against the computer for accuracy.
  • Pre-register and block reservations, taking same-day and future reservations as needed.
  • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs according to hotel policies.
  • Ensure all cash and cash equivalents are accounted for and balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Resolve guest complaints and assist with inquiries about hotel services and local attractions.
  • Manage phone activity and provide general knowledge to callers.
  • Cancel room reservations according to procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Housekeeping Department regarding room availability.
