About The Position

The Front Desk Agent at Courtyard By Marriott is responsible for ensuring guests have a positive experience from check-in to check-out. This role serves as the face of the hotel, facilitating communication between departments and addressing guest needs to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks without close supervision.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must clock in and out for shifts and breaks responsibly.
  • Uniform must be clean and properly worn with a name tag.
  • Visible tattoos and piercings must comply with hotel standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak, read, and/or write in languages other than English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the hotel's front desk OPERA system.
  • Previous experience at another hotel's front desk.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Desire to go above and beyond basic job requirements to assist guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
  • Thank guests and encourage them to return upon departure.
  • Ensure smooth check-in and check-out of all guests through proper handling of guest accounts.
  • Handle guest requests and problems, satisfying their needs within acceptable guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties including AYS, business center, and guest relations/concierge.
  • Maintain a positive and productive atmosphere at the desk and foster good relationships with managers and associates in other departments.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and ensure the work area is clean and organized.
  • Facilitate professional communication with other departments over the radio.
  • Follow cash/credit handling and banking procedures for guest check-ins and check-outs.
  • Stay informed about hotel availability and sales strategy through communication with the front desk supervisor.
  • Know hotel room types, available inventory, amenities/services, and outlet hours of operation.
  • Report to work on time in proper uniform, including name tag, and comply with personal appearance standards.
  • Attend department meetings and implement information into daily work.
  • Have knowledge of the surrounding area to provide directions and recommendations to guests.
  • Handle guest packages, faxes, and luggage correctly.
  • Know safety deposit box procedures and follow end-of-shift paperwork review and bank drop procedures.
  • Assist other departments and guests as requested and report any safety hazards immediately.
  • Report any on-the-job injuries to the manager, regardless of severity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
