Requirements

  • 1+ Previous Front Desk experience in a related position with this company or other companies in hotels or administration related work.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software (including Microsoft Office, Outlook) and web analytics tools is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word; PC knowledge, minimum typing speed of 50wpm.
  • Ability to write and communicate professionally; bi-lingual fluency is a plus.
  • Must be hospitality oriented and possess the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High School diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Must be able to sustain composure, remain calm, and possess a positive attitude.
  • Energetic and outgoing with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow directions with focus to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
  • Ability to input data and access information on the computer.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and previous experience with a hotel management system; OPERA preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and registering guests, providing excellent guest service, and settling the guest's account upon completion of their stay.
  • Registering guests, making and modifying reservations, and assisting with hotel operator and/or concierge duties.
  • Possessing knowledge of all hotel features, services, hours of operation, room numbers and types, room layout, decor, room rates, packages/promotions, daily house count and room availability status.
  • Pre-registering, blocking reservations, and taking same day reservations when necessary.
  • Processing guest check-ins by confirming reservations and reviewing all noted information.
  • Registering guests in OPERA, generating registration cards, and verifying registrations with guests.
  • Communicating services and amenities of the hotel to guests.
  • Maintaining guest history files.
  • Setting up accurate accounts for each guest in accordance to their requirements.
  • Maintaining, monitoring, and balancing room availability for any given day.
  • Filing registration cards and vouchers by room number.
  • Handling VIP and upgraded accommodations.
  • Assisting and processing overbooked or 'walked' guests.
  • Documenting all guest requests, complaints, or problems and resolving guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintaining an organized and clean work area with necessary supplies.
  • Being responsible for assigned bank and ensuring accuracy of contracted monies.
  • Meeting with FOM/Supervisor daily to review assignments and priorities.
  • Communicating with prior shift's Front Desk Agent to review all follow-up items.
  • Answering department telephone within 3 rings with correct greeting and proper etiquette.
  • Taking and relaying messages accurately, completely, and promptly.
