About The Position

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for organizing, confirming, and processing guest check-ins/check-outs while adapting to any changes. This role involves securing payments, verifying and adjusting billing as needed, and performing various tasks such as answering phones, maintaining a cash drawer, and operating office equipment. The agent will use a computer system to make reservations, check-in and check-out hotel guests, and process payments. It is essential to maintain current knowledge of all hotel services/features and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries effectively. The agent must provide the highest level of service by anticipating, listening attentively, and responding promptly to guests' needs. Additionally, the agent will post and balance room charges to guest accounts, ensure guest and hotel safety by knowing all safety, security, and emergency procedures, and handle guest service requests and complaints to meet and exceed expectations. Completing cashier and closing reports and maintaining constant contact with both internal and external customers is also required.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel reservation experience required
  • At least 6 months of guest service experience
  • 2 years minimum practical experience in a relevant field
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation skills
  • Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook; expert in Excel
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of hotel-based systems such as AS400, Passkey, and Delphi

Responsibilities

  • Post and balance room charges to guest's accounts
  • Ensure guest and hotel safety by knowing all safety, security and emergency procedures
  • Promptly handle guest service requests and guest complaints
  • Complete cashier and closing reports, counting the bank at the end of each shift securely
  • Make constant contact with both internal and external customers to provide optimal guest service
  • Communicate any emergency, lost item or theft to proper security staff and/or authorities

Benefits
