About The Position

The Front Desk Agent at Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Brooks Hotel & Spa is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. The ideal candidate will have experience with the OnQ property management system and a background in full-service hotels, contributing to a welcoming and efficient front desk operation.

Requirements

• 2 years of hotel experience (Required)
• 1 year of experience with OnQ Property Management System (Required)

Responsibilities

• Register guests and assign rooms.
• Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
• Courteously and accurately answer inquiries from potential guests and accept hotel reservations.
• Assist in preregistration and blocking of rooms for reservations.
• Understand and adhere to proper credit, check-cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
• Understand room status and room status tracking.
• Know room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
• Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying them of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.
• Maintain guest room key storage and supervise access to safe deposit boxes.
• Use front office equipment effectively.
• Process guest check-outs and perform cashier-related functions like posting charges to guest accounts and currency exchange.
• Follow procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by guests.
• Use proper telephone etiquette.
• Attend department meetings.
• Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
• Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
