About The Position

Admissions is seeking for a qualified, and experienced Full-time Receptionist. This opportunity is for 11pm to 7:30am, Monday through Friday, including weekends from 7pm to 7:30pm. (A 2 WEEK ORIENTATION IS REQUIRED. MON- FRI 8:30A-5:00P) Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland. Website: Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services | Rockford Center | Newark, DE Position Summary: The Front Desk Agent / Hall Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors during the overnight shift at our behavioral health hospital. This role combines administrative duties at the front desk with monitoring activities throughout the facility to maintain a secure environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in security or healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a behavioral healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to conduct rounds and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter.
  • Conduct regular rounds of the facility, checking for any signs of disturbance or unauthorized activity and notify house supervisor.
  • Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents, following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports of all activities, incidents, and visitors.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
  • Assist with patient admissions and discharges as needed.
  • Assist with doing patient and patient belonging searches.
  • Provide information and assistance to patients and visitors, including directions and hospital policies.
  • Complete audits and data input for facility as needed.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, and administration to ensure a safe environment.
  • Enforce hospital rules and regulations, including visitor policies and curfews.
