About The Position

The Front/Back Medical Assistant in Cardiology at MarinHealth is responsible for assisting in the delivery of healthcare and patient care management under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Practice Leader. This role involves direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, documenting patient information, and assisting with medical procedures. The Medical Assistant will also handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records, ensuring a high standard of patient care and communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certificate required or 5+ years of recent continuous experience in lieu of certificate.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician's office or clinical setting.
• Experience with re-processing and procedural tasks preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Allscripts electronic medical records system.
• Strong customer service skills and professionalism in communication.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
• Documenting patient symptoms, frequency, and severity in electronic medical records.
• Providing injections, immunizations, and other patient care services as ordered by the medical provider.
• Assisting during medical procedures and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Communicating lab results, managing prescriptions, and completing referrals accurately.
• Disinfecting exam rooms and maintaining patient areas and supplies.
• Answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient inquiries.
• Processing insurance verifications and authorizations.
