About The Position

Applicants MUST be a current Lipscomb University student to apply. This role is for Federal Work Study students only. Friends Life Community is seeking caring and compassionate students to assist clients during the hours of 11 am - 1 pm. Your primary job as a Program / Lunch Attendant is to ensure the safety of the clients while eating, assisting with opening containers, and meeting additional needs during the lunch program. The ideal candidate will engage in meaningful conversations and model appropriate adult behavior. engaging in meaningful conversations and modeling appropriate adult behavior. There is a strict no-cell phone policy while supervising the lunch program. Staff members are provided with a walkie-talkie to communicate with other staff members as needed. Program Support Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure safety of all Friends including, but not limited to: knowing and understanding individual risks following safety protocols ensuring headcounts throughout lunch thorough understanding of emergency procedures for fire, weather, or intruder threats Following lunch safety procedures Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification and follow those protocols (paid training will be provided) Understanding and use of Positive Behavior Supports Demonstrate best practices, inclusion, empathy, communication, and relationship-building with clients. Occasionally support staff and clients at events to showcase client work and increase community engagement. Occasionally Support evening/weekend activities such as Social Club Events, Friends’ Treat Truck events, Dinner Club, etc. Collaborate with team members to advertise, execute, and meet event objectives.
