About The Position

The Shipping Manager oversees all shipping operations for day and night shifts in a high-volume warehouse environment specializing in produce and provisions. This role ensures timely, accurate, and efficient processing of outbound orders while maintaining compliance with food safety, quality standards, and company procedures. The Shipping Manager leads and develops the shipping team to support 24/7 operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
5+ years of warehouse shipping/receiving experience with 2+ years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a food distribution environment.
Strong understanding of shipping procedures, food safety standards (HACCP, SQF, etc.), and warehouse operations.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Manage all daily shipping operations across day and night shifts to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Supervise shipping team leads, clerks, and warehouse personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
Oversee the staging, loading, and dispatching of trucks for produce and provisions deliveries.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards during all shipping activities.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
Coordinate with transportation, sales, and warehouse teams to resolve any shipping issues or delays.
Maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and temperature control records.
Optimize labor and resources to meet productivity goals while minimizing overtime and errors.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Assist with inventory management to support accurate order picking and minimize stock discrepancies.
Respond promptly to customer and operational issues related to shipping.
