About The Position

The 2nd Shift General Production Labor position at Tyson Foods involves entry-level, non-skilled labor roles responsible for various tasks in a production environment. The job requires successful training and completion of an 8-week qualification period for roles such as Machine Feeder, Wing Cutter, Breast Trimmer, Breast Puller, Shoulder Cutter, Utility Labor, Tender Scorer/Puller, Cone Stabber, and Backup Labor. Employees must maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures. The position requires physical stamina, as it involves lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy items, and working in varying temperatures. The shift is from approximately 5 PM to 2 AM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and weekend work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to work in damp cold or damp hot environments.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs to access work areas.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must be able to use knives or scissors safely.
  • Must be able to maintain line speed and perform repetitive motions.

  • Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various general labor tasks in a production environment.
  • Complete an 8-week qualification period for specific job roles.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to company policies.
  • Operate machinery and keep records of machine testing and failures.
  • Remove wings from breast frames and grade them.
  • Trim boneless breast fillets and inspect for quality.
  • Manually remove breast meat from frames and inspect for quality.
  • Cut front halves at the shoulder joint to standard.
  • Maintain flow of product and supply for the area.
  • Fill in for various line positions/tasks as needed.
