About The Position

The Fresh Merchandise Operations Specialist is a pivotal role within ACO-US, located in Evans, Colorado. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about driving success in the retail space, particularly in fresh food categories. The specialist will work closely with major retailers to ensure maximum sales and profits while maintaining high standards of quality and member satisfaction. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including training and development, performance management, compliance, and process improvement, all aimed at enhancing fresh food operations.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in retail fresh food areas (Meat & Seafood, Produce, Bakery, or Prepared Foods), restaurant, bakery, meat processing, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisory/management experience, demonstrating leadership and a proven ability to drive results.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support senior leaders in implementing best practices.
  • Track record of excellence in a fresh food retail setting with an understanding of department financial objectives.
  • Adaptability and resilience in the face of workplace change, with a proactive mindset toward innovation and improvement.
  • Strong presentation skills for effective communication with diverse audiences, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Comfortable using digital platforms such as Teams and Zoom.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance for travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive training programs for retail club teams focusing on fresh food operations, including food safety, quality assurance, and merchandising excellence.
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of club teams in executing fresh food operations, providing constructive coaching and feedback after each visit.
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and innovations within fresh categories, continually honing skills to remain competitive.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements for food safety certification and sanitation practices.
  • Utilize influencing skills to align club teams with standards and policies, fostering agility and adaptability.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing fresh food operations processes and collaborate with club teams to implement strategic changes.
  • Maintain open communication with club managers and stakeholders, providing updates on training initiatives and performance metrics.
  • Keep meticulous records of training activities, including attendance, performance evaluations, and feedback.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to travel to various retail locations for training sessions and on-site support.
  • Collaborate with fellow trainers and club personnel to ensure consistency in training methodologies and operational standards.
  • Champion the delivery of fresh food operations that meet or exceed member expectations for quality and satisfaction.
  • Lead by example, committing to excellence in fresh food operations and nurturing a positive team culture.
