Handles perishable products in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat. Reviews the status and appearance of the merchandise for freshness and quality to ensure products are available to customers for Produce, Bakery, and Home Meal Replacement departments. Core Competencies Partnerships Growth mindset Results oriented Customer focused Professionalism Reporting Relations: Accountable and Reports to: Fresh Foods Manager Positions that Report to you: None Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store. Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner in all areas of the store. Assists customers by: (examples include) escorting them to the products they’re looking for securing products that are out of reach loading or unloading heavy items making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Reviews the status and appearance of the merchandise for freshness and anticipates product needs on a daily basis and follows a production list as required. Replenishes and rotates product while facing merchandise as needed. Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area. Labels all product containers in the backroom and in storage areas with date store received them. Ensures storage area is organized, the floor is not slippery, and the temperature is constant and correct. Knows code dates on perishable items and can explain to customers. Answers customer questions and concerns and follows-up with appropriate personnel. Reviews weekly store ad to note price changes and sale items. Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and ensures the work area is always clean and neat. Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Operates a cash register to complete customer transactions accurate, efficient and prompt manner with occasional bagging while ensuring proper handling of all forms of tender and coupons. Provides price checks on products for customers and co-workers as necessary. Assists store management as required (i.e., store displays, decorations for special promotion/events). Cleans but not limited to registers, restrooms, breakroom; backroom, sweeps and mops the floor, and tends to supply needs. Performs other job related duties, assists in other areas of the store and works on special projects as needed.
