About The Position

To provide exceptional customer service while ensuring the freshness, quality, and attractive presentation of fresh food products in the department. This role involves stocking, rotating, preparing, and displaying various food items like produce, meat, seafood, or deli products, while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
No prior experience required
Ability to learn basic food handling and safety procedures.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Basic math skills for handling transactions.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Food Handlers Certification (required)

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and efficient customer service, answering questions about products, offering suggestions, and assisting with selections.
Maintain the highest standards of freshness and quality by inspecting, rotating, and culling products according to established procedures.
Stock and replenish displays, ensuring adequate inventory levels and visually appealing presentations.
Prepare food items for sale, such as trimming produce, packaging meats, or preparing deli items according to department guidelines.
Weigh, label, and price products accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning display cases, equipment, and storage areas.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations and procedures.
Follow company policies and procedures regarding product handling, storage, and disposal.
Assist with other tasks as assigned by the department manager.
Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.
