About The Position

This position will be responsible for selecting orders from pick tickets and work orders in the fresh flower refrigerated area. The candidate will be self-motivated, organized and accurate, with a willingness to assist with customer needs; this position will evolve and change based on business. Hours of operation are seven days a week. Specific scheduling for this position will be discussed during the interview process and will adjust based on the fluctuation of business and holiday’s.

Requirements

High School or equivalent; knowledge of fresh flowers is helpful.
Must be customer service driven and able to communicate clear and effectively.
Must have basic working knowledge of computer and be able to operate menu driven computer programs with mouse, 10 key keypad, and alpha numeric keyboard.
Ability to read and obey MSDS information on products.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers.
Must have the ability to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
Able to file, post, sort and organize materials and paperwork.
Must be able to perform work duties in a refrigerated environment.
Must be able to physically perform light to moderate work: exerting/lifting 10-50 lbs. frequently.
Visual abilities required include clarity at all distances, color and peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

Selects orders from pick tickets and work orders.
Works in refrigerated area; temperature 36º to 42º F.
Responsible for daily fresh flower product rotation.
Performs general quality control on fresh flower product and reports any issues to Cut Flower Buyer.
Checks in trucks and puts fresh flower product in appropriate cooler location.
Assists with inventory counts on fresh flower product on a weekly basis.
Handles packaging materials and understands proper care/handling for fresh flowers.
Responsible for cleaning cooler and maintaining a neat work area.
Must create a friendly work environment.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Assists in packing area when needed which includes packing orders, strapping and labeling boxes for delivery routes.
Processes fresh flowers by cutting and placing into holding solution.
Cleans containers and equipment used in fresh flower processing.
Performs miscellaneous other duties as assigned.
