The FRESH EATS Coordinator will play a vital role in the Children's Nutrition Connection team at Cornerstone Family Ministries, focusing on the FRESH EATS program. This position involves overseeing nutrition education programming, including cooking classes and community gardening initiatives, aimed at engaging families in healthy eating practices. The Coordinator will manage logistics, community outreach, and volunteer involvement to ensure the program's success and expand food access in at-risk neighborhoods.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the FRESH EATS program, including the CFM Community Garden and Nutrition Hub's onsite teaching kitchen.
  • Coordinate the Cooking with Families series and other nutrition education programs conducted on-site.
  • Ensure 48 new families participate in the FRESH EATS program annually.
  • Manage scheduling and logistics for classes, workshops, and garden activities.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote Cooking with Families classes and other FRESH EATS activities.
  • Foster partnerships with local non-profits, schools, and community centers to recruit participants.
  • Directly recruit families from CCFP partner centers and local neighborhoods.
  • Create and distribute program materials and promotional content.
  • Work with a garden consultant to expand production in the CFM Community Garden.
  • Coordinate volunteer-led workdays and garden maintenance activities.
  • Develop educational garden programs focusing on gardening skills and nutrition.
  • Oversee the harvesting, storage, and distribution of garden-grown produce.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and interns.
  • Coordinate the Food Rx Program food access area and oversee food distribution events.
  • Collect and maintain data on program participation and outcomes.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the FRESH EATS program and prepare reports on program outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Food Sciences, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in administering nutrition education or cooking classes (preferred).
  • Experience with community gardening.
  • ServSafe certification (preferred).
  • Ability to lift 20+ pounds and work in both outdoor and indoor settings.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and data tracking systems.
  • Ability to provide private transportation for work assignments.
  • Experience in community engagement and outreach.
  • Knowledge of food sustainability practices.
