About the position

PURPOSE: Supervise Fresh Cut section according to Company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals.
  • Handles customer relations in a positive manner, including effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Promotes Albertsons/Safeway philosophy of personalized service in the Fresh Cut area.
  • Supervises, motivates, trains, and participates in the hiring of Fresh Cut personnel.
  • Monitors associate performance and recommends personnel actions such as hiring, firing, layoffs, and disciplinary action.
  • Schedules Fresh Cut personnel in alignment with allotted hours.
  • Prepares fresh fruits and vegetables and salads for the Fresh Cut area.
  • Ensures quality, freshness, selection, and adequate quantity to meet customer demand.
  • Sets up, maintains, and closes the Fresh Cut area according to Company procedures.
  • Stocks, dates, and rotates Fresh Cut products while controlling shrink and costs.
  • Orders, receives, checks, and controls inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Implements correct product preparation techniques.
  • Uses and operates related equipment such as slicers, wrapping machines, mixers, pallet jacks, hand truck, knives, safety cutters, scales, food processors, and garbage disposal.
  • Complies with all food and workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Verifies pricing accuracy and additional display signs.
  • Ensures safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, and equipment.
  • Assists customers and engages in suggestive selling.
  • Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
  • Other necessary and required duties as assigned by the supervisor.
