About The Position

The Freight Processing Lead is responsible for leading the freight team in a retail environment, ensuring effective planning, direction, and execution of freight processing, merchandising, and customer service activities. This role involves working closely with the freight team to maintain accountability for truck unloads, merchandising metrics, and presentation standards while also serving as Manager on Duty when needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum two years retail management experience preferred.
• Strong decision-making, problem resolution, and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required.
• Availability to work a variable schedule of at least 30 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays required.
• Basic English literacy, math, and PC skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the freight team in preparation for new merchandise on the sales floor, including truck unload and stocking tasks.
• Provide clear work direction, training, and coaching to freight team members regarding freight flow processes and furniture assembly.
• Analyze and evaluate staffing and scheduling needs for freight flow processes based on projected carton counts and payroll allocation.
• Track, calculate, and report freight productivity metrics within the store on a weekly basis.
• Provide feedback to store leadership regarding the team's performance and ability to meet freight metrics.
• Ensure stockroom organization and cleanliness, including back stock control.
• Prepare for upcoming merchandising efforts and reconcile all inventory transactions with store merchandising leadership.
• Serve in the Manager on Duty role as needed, providing leadership and direction to floor associates.
