The Freight Lead at GOOD EARTH MARKETS is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of freight operations within the store. This role involves ensuring the smooth receipt of vendor deliveries, training and developing the freight team, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. The Freight Lead plays a crucial part in supporting store management to optimize product flow and customer service.

  • Oversee the receiving of direct vendor deliveries in conjunction with store management.
  • Train Freight Team Members on how to complete their job effectively.
  • Continually coach and develop the freight team, ensuring all policies and best practices are in use.
  • Partner with the Manager on disciplinary actions for the freight team.
  • Maintain organized backstock and a clean work environment to ensure safety compliance.
  • Stage products for efficient delivery to the sales floor.
  • Accurately receive all incoming products including dating, organizing, and checking for accuracy and damage.
  • Be available to assist customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Stand for long periods and complete tasks that require repetitive lifting and bending.
  • Use basic math skills for inventory management.
  • Perform light janitorial tasks daily.
  • Perform other duties throughout the store as assigned or needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to maintain an organized backstock and a clean work environment to ensure safety compliance.
  • Proficiency in staging products for efficient delivery to the sales floor.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers effectively.
  • Physical capability to stand for long periods and perform tasks that require repetitive lifting and bending.
  • Basic math skills for effective inventory management.
  • Ability to perform light janitorial tasks on a daily basis.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties throughout the store as assigned or needed.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, reliable, and punctual with strong time management and personnel management skills.
  • Experience in a supervisory or lead role, particularly in freight or logistics operations preferred.
