The Freight Coordinator position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." Additionally, the Freight Coordinator performs a variety of operational tasks assigned by store management, such as receiving and unpacking daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine cleaning of facilities. This role involves comparing and verifying merchandise invoices, sending alterations, layaways, or special orders via FedEx, checking accuracy of freight packing and transfer slips, and ensuring all transfers are processed correctly. The coordinator is also responsible for visual merchandise management, including removing pins and plastic from merchandise, placing Sensormatic tags, hanging and folding merchandise for the sales floor, and assisting with floor projects. Operational duties include developing and maintaining knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) software, receiving freight boxes and store transfers, managing discrepancies and shipment-related paperwork, recognizing and preventing security risks, making FedEx labels, sending recalls and Return to Vendors (RTVs), keeping supplies organized, maintaining a neat work area, and communicating policy violations or merchandise handling concerns to management. The role requires understanding and applying the Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all company policies, procedures, and handbooks, while contributing to a positive team spirit.
