About The Position

The Freight Brokerage Account Manager at Legacy Supply Chain is responsible for managing and developing relationships with assigned accounts to retain and grow business. This role involves understanding customer needs, managing P&L, and ensuring operational requirements are met. The Account Manager will also support new sales developments and onboarding of clients, while actively seeking new freight sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 4 years' experience in freight forwarding, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, and international supply chains.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in driving growth in an account management setting.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work across different lines of business.
  • Strong knowledge of market trends in logistics.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • World-class relationship building and sales mentality.
  • Negotiation skills and financial acumen.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Utilization of Lean Six Sigma functions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point of contact for all account management matters.
  • Leverage relationships and opportunities with customers to increase revenue and profitability.
  • Lead business reviews with customers and drive action plans to improve results.
  • Proactively communicate issues internally and externally to maintain positive results for assigned accounts.
  • Negotiate rates with customers, sales, internal operations, and external providers.
  • Quote rates to assigned customers and potential new customers.
  • Understand customer needs and create solutions to drive growth.
  • Meet with customers to ensure satisfaction and targeted revenue/profitability is met.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
  • Communicate progress of initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics and manage P&L.
  • Maintain monthly performance of customers and profitability.
  • Seek out new or recurring opportunities to grow relationships.
  • Onboard new customers and act as Subject Matter Expert.
  • Provide detailed reporting for open orders and monitor customer supply line.
  • Coordinate with agents and logistics teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Report customer volumes, revenue, jobs, margin, and forecasts to the executive team.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and forecasts to avoid downturns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Develop optimal routing and pricing solutions for transportation needs.
  • Manage day-to-day freight movements in collaboration with Operations.
  • Participate in sales meetings and report on sales goals.
