About The Position

Responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate selection of products to fulfill agency orders. The Regional Food Bank - the only organization of its kind in northeastern New York - has been in operation since 1982. The Food Bank of the Hudson Valley was founded in 1990 to expand and improve service to charitable agencies and donor partners in Orange, Ulster, Dutchess, Rockland, Sullivan, and Putnam counties. Working in partnership with the food industry, the Food Bank collects large donations of unmarketable but wholesome food and distributes it to non-profit programs feeding our neighbors in need in 23 counties. From the Canadian border to the New Jersey border, in urban, rural, and suburban communities, the Food Bank provided 50 million pounds of food and grocery items to nearly 1,000 partner agencies. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.
Employee should have the ability to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Selects products according to specific orders.
Safely builds pallets of products for delivery and pickup.
Labels and organizes product on pallets.
Reports and repairs any damaged goods.
Reports any missing pallet inventory tags.
Reports any inventory inaccuracies.
Uses handheld inventory scanner to take inventory.
Monitors assigned area for pest activities.
Assists with monthly and annual inventory counts.
Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
Inspects power equipment prior to use.
Follows all safety standards and procedures.
Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
Adheres to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Replenishes products in picking location from reserve stock.
Receives incoming product from deliveries.
