About The Position

Snack Media is the UK's largest independent sports network engaging with more than 40M fans each month. Founded over 10 years ago from a single podcast, we now have over 400 sites and channels focusing on sport within the network. The role of Staff Writer at GiveMeSport, the largest sports Facebook page in the world with over 26M fans across social media, involves sourcing potential sharable content that our huge audience of sports fans on Facebook will engage with. You will publish between 3-5 articles per shift depending on your agreed quota and may be asked to write content assigned to you by a senior member of the editorial team. You will also suggest potential content ideas to senior members and create eye-catching Facebook posts for your content. A strong passion for football and staying on top of trends in the sporting world is essential.

Requirements

• Excellent writing ability and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of football beyond just the Premier League.
• Ability to write about other sports such as boxing, UFC, WWE, darts, snooker, gaming, and F1.
• Quick to spot fresh viral content for shareable link posts on Facebook.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit.
• Understanding of NewsNow and SEO best practices is beneficial.
• Experience using WordPress's CMS is a bonus.
• Strong desire to learn and develop skills.
