About the position
Invisible Hand is looking for a Senior Strategist or Strategy Director to join our rapidly growing agency. Our team’s mission is to use culture, the network effect, and live experiences to meet our client’s goals. Our client roster includes Spotify, PBS, Emerson Collective, Omidyar Network, Equality Federation, and many more. This is a role for a doer who can own research, strategy development, comms planning / execution strategies, and even concepting programming. You will play a significant role in defining the Invisible Hand way with projects and clients, and play a critical role in business development. You are a self-starter, motivated by learning, able to work quickly, and a creative problem solver with incredibly strong communication skills and a “passion for polish.” Candidates should be comfortable working in a startup environment. This is a high-touch client-facing role that requires maturity and discretion; candidates should enjoy cultivating client relationships and leading client calls.
Responsibilities
- Own deep research (combinations of desk research, investigative research within communities, and more) related to assigned projects, which could include criminal justice, product research, climate action, etc.
- Create a broad range of polished deliverables to articulate strategic direction and execution - from content and rollout strategies to upstream brand narratives and positioning
- Author frameworks for execution strategies, similar to comms planning and tactical planning
- Own insight development for audiences, identifying the right segments and conducting research.
- Own the response to RFPs
- Own deck development for client deliverables with polish and rigor, with a special eye on storytelling
- Active participant in concepting ideas for programs and audience engagement tactics that do not include paid media - think of it more like, should we do a roundtable dinner or should we start a Signal chat with the community
Requirements
- You have at least five years’ relevant experience. This could be in social impact or creative agencies, political campaigns, strategic communications, or other fields.
- You are a strategic thinker and leader who can act as a trusted partner and advisor to clients across a broad range of outputs
- You exhibit professionalism and integrity, leading by example, treating people with respect, and seeking and giving constructive feedback.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills. You are a great listener; communicate concisely and evocatively in written text; and can present to a boardroom, a small NGO, and anyone else we aim to serve.
- You are able to manage competing demands and the moving pieces of multiple complex projects, yet remain unflappable under deadline pressure.
