We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Freelance Production Assistant to support our fast-paced news environment. This role will be integral to the smooth operation of our daily production, working closely with our team to produce high-quality content for our broadcast and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for business & tech news, a strong understanding of social media, and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Production Assistant or in a related field, preferably in a news or media environment.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Basic video editing skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential guests for our news programs.
• Contact and coordinate with guests, including scheduling interviews and providing pre-interview information.
• Prepare briefing materials for anchors and producers.
• Assist with light research and fact-checking.
• Support the production team with various tasks as needed.
• Assist in creating and scheduling social media content across various platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
• Monitor social media for trending topics and engagement opportunities.

Benefits

• A reasonable estimate of the current compensation is $25 an hour.
