About The Position

Our brand lives as much online as it does in scent — through storytelling, visuals, humor, and a distinct cultural point of view. role overview We’re looking for a passionate storyteller and on-camera content creator who lives and breathes social media, especially TikTok. You have a strong point of view on what authentic digital content means and a sharp instinct for translating trends into thumb-stopping moments that feel true to the D.S. & Durga world. As D.S. & Durga’s Freelance Content Creator, you’ll ideate, shoot, and edit short-form videos that bring our fragrances, products, and lifestyle to life in fun, culturally fluent, and brand-right ways. This is a highly creative, fast-moving role for someone who understands internet culture deeply — not just what’s trending, but why. This role operates within creative direction set by the Social Media Manager and Director of Brand Creative and does not own brand systems, visual identity, or campaign strategy.

Requirements

  • A deep passion for TikTok, internet culture, and short-form storytelling.
  • You don’t just know what’s trending — you understand why it’s trending and how to adapt it thoughtfully for brands.
  • Strong on-camera presence and comfort performing for social.
  • Ability to ideate and execute independently at speed, from brainstorm to post in a single day.
  • Strong editing skills in CapCut (required).
  • Based in New York City with flexibility to shoot on-site regularly.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience creating content for beauty, fragrance, wellness, or lifestyle brands is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and pitch 30–40 short-form content ideas per month across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and emerging platforms.
  • Produce 15–20 final video assets per month that are mobile-shot, quick-turn, and social-first.
  • Translate trends, sounds, formats, and memes into content that feels authentic to D.S. & Durga.
  • Be the face of the brand in select videos, confident, natural, and engaging on camera.
  • Capture content at D.S. & Durga retail locations, events, launches, and local brand moments.
  • Collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager to refine creative direction, pacing, and voice.
  • Edit content using CapCut (required) and deliver polished, platform-optimized assets.
  • Iterate quickly based on performance, feedback, and cultural moments.
