About The Position
A regional acute-care hospital in the Tallahassee, Florida area is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to support a Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) location serving the Lake Jackson community. The parent hospital is a full-service acute-care facility offering 24/7 emergency services and a wide range of specialty programs, including behavioral health, neonatal care, cardiovascular services, stroke care, orthopedics, and spine services. The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality emergency nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of conditions, from minor illnesses and injuries to life-threatening emergencies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and demonstrates strong clinical judgment and adaptability.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Emergency Department RN experience
- Critical Care nursing experience will be considered
- Active Florida RN license or multistate license (or eligibility prior to start)
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
- BLS (required prior to start date)
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (within 90 days of hire)
- ACLS (within 90 days of hire)
- PALS (within 90 days of hire)
Responsibilities
- Triage, assess, and treat emergency patients of all ages
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Manage multiple patients simultaneously and prioritize care effectively
- Provide discharge education, follow-up instructions, and referrals
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain patient safety, clinical quality, and regulatory standards
