About The Position

Free People is searching for a Senior Financial Analyst. As Senior Financial Analyst, you will be a key, supportive member of the Free People Brand Finance and team. The role reports to the Senior Finance Manager. This position will work closely with key brand business partners and various shared service team members. Key responsibilities focused on reporting and analytics for the Store channel; including monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis, monthly forecasting and annual budget support and ongoing support of ad hoc brand projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • 3-4 years of work experience, preferably in finance or business analysis, with a strong knowledge of financial/accounting principles.
  • Retail or apparel industry experience preferred.
  • Strong sense of accountability, ownership and proactive problem-solving.
  • Excellent organization, time management and communication.
  • Demonstrate ability to self-manage daily schedule to meet deadlines with accurate information.
  • Ability to manage large data sets with advanced excel skills to analyze and summarize information.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of financial systems, specifically Hyperion, Oracle, & MicroStrategy preferred. Proven ability to utilize and quickly adapt to new software and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing and evaluating Store channel financial reporting; supporting the financial close, forecast and budget processes.
  • Manage monthly Stores Forecast compilation of inputs from planning, accounting and finance teams. Includes evaluations of by-store sales and margin review, expense forecast changes based on changes to sales assumptions, and supporting upload to financial reporting system.
  • Review and maintain key reference materials critical for store reporting including comp status review, store openings and closures.
  • Support Stores Budget coordination and help to lead Stores channel budget process including: expense review tracking in partnership with Sr. Accountant and ensure accuracy of YTD metrics, document budgeting assumptions and methodologies, manage data uploads to financial reporting system and prepare financial analysis to communicate budget assumptions.
  • Participate in ongoing analysis and review of key reporting metrics for the Store channel.
  • Responsible for the accurate preparation of reporting for use and distribution among brand partners and leadership team.
  • Participate in ad hoc analysis for Stores Channel key initiatives and department level performance.
  • Develop ways to continually improve processes to ensure timely and accurate completion & communication of information.
