About The Position

Valparaiso Care & Rehabilitation is offering a free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program designed for individuals with a caring spirit who wish to turn their compassion into a career. This program requires no previous experience and provides both classroom and hands-on training, allowing participants to become certified CNAs in just a few weeks. Upon completion, graduates can find employment in any of ASC's 100 locations across Indiana, with opportunities for career advancement in nursing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a caregiving role (not required but beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming tasks such as hair care, brushing teeth, and shaving.
• Helping residents at mealtimes, including transporting them to the dining room and assisting them with eating and drinking.
• Repositioning and transferring residents from a bed to a wheelchair or from a wheelchair to the toilet.
• Obtaining resident vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and recording observations.
• Answering patient call lights and assisting in fulfilling requests.
• Building meaningful relationships with residents, providing not only care but companionship.
