About The Position

The mission of Fraud Science and Intelligence is to identify and disrupt sophisticated criminal networks targeting our platform, thereby safeguarding our customers and the broader payment ecosystem. You will lead your team in employing data science methodologies to proactively identify, investigate, and disrupt fraud activity at scale. This role is pivotal in driving advancements in fraud prevention controls and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders across PayPal.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced SQL proficiency (complex queries and data optimization) and Python (libraries/tools for data manipulation, string processing, and pattern recognition). GCP experience a plus.
• Thorough understanding of cybercrime trends, financial fraud typologies, and payment risk landscapes.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
• Skilled in identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, supporting effective storytelling with data and influencing decision-making processes.
• Team player, energetic personality, curious, able to work efficiently in a fast paced, changing environment.
