About The Position

The corporate office of Express Employment International is seeking a Franchise Accountant I, who is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of monthly Statements of Accounts for franchise partners. This includes entering weekly adjustments to statements, auditing those adjustments for accuracy, and preparing reconciliations of related general ledger accounts. In this position, you will provide responsive support to franchises on departmental processes and inquiries, while preparing ad-hoc reports, reimbursements, and invoices as required. This position involves developing foundational knowledge of franchise accounting processes under the guidance and direction of senior team members, with opportunities to grow expertise in statement management, reconciliations, and franchise support. This position sits within our Oklahoma City-based corporate office, currently with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent education preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures
  • Working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, procedures, codes, and classifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer systems
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to learn franchise accounting processes under guidance

  • Internship or related experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and payment of the commission statements for US, Canada and ANZ offices
  • Balancing payroll weekly, preparing reconciliations on GL accounts and assisting other team members with weekly duties
  • Perform various functions related to servicing the Franchisees as needed or required. Functions may include preparing rundowns, resale reviews, WOTC error report, emails and phone calls
  • Provide support to current and former Franchisees concerning the Commission & Reserve statements
  • Invoice and collect the funds from Founder offices for various expenses paid on their behalf and process new Franchisee Advertising reimbursements
  • Assist other departments as needed i.e., Accounts Receivable and Workers’ Comp
