Position Summary: This position works collaboratively with the FE Waiver Program Manager to determine FE waiver program and functional eligibility. The Specialist reviews and processes information obtained from various sources in accordance with standard procedures, rules and regulations. Processes and files all notices regarding FE client eligibility, and updates KAMIS administrative page as needed. Follows up with KDHE on financial eligibility inquiries which come to KDADS. Works with KDHE regarding WORK and STEPS transitions due to aging out of programs. Works in collaboration with the KDADS ADRC Program Manager and appropriate assessing entities to assure all procedures are and reporting are adhered to for the FE waiver. Works in collaboration with waiver-to-waiver transition team and institutional transitions/MFP transitions. Manages FE waiver Waiting list, if one is implemented.

  • The Specialist serves as the main point of contact for program eligibility questions from assessing entities and MCOs, KDHE, and consumers and their families. In conjunction with the FE Waiver Program Manager, the Specialist shall approve or deny waiver eligibility following the guidelines set out by the waivers. The Specialist will issue 3160s and 3161s as appropriate, and update FE clients' KAMIS administrative page as necessary.

  • Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned including but not limited to ensuring the agency is adequately staffed during and immediately following natural and/or manmade disasters, infectious disease outbreaks, and/or acts of terrorism. Assists other employees in the work unit in accomplishing assignments as necessary.
  • One year of experience in professional administrative support work
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • High School diploma
  • Knowledge of HCBS services system.
