About The Position

We are a fast-growing boutique home services company based in Fresno, CA, generating approximately $3–5M annually with multiple service verticals. We are building a disciplined, scalable financial foundation to support growth into the $7–10M range. We are not a corporate environment. We need a hands-on, operational finance leader who can build systems, improve cash flow visibility, strengthen banking relationships, and guide leadership with clear financial insights. We are seeking a Fractional CFO to lead financial strategy, cash management, forecasting, and banking relationships on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for: A small-business CFO A senior controller ready to operate at CFO level A former construction/home services finance leader A semi-retired CFO seeking part-time engagement This is a working role — not advisory-only.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in CFO, Director of Finance, or Controller roles
  • Strong small to mid-sized business experience ($2M–$15M revenue)
  • Experience building cash forecasts and managing working capital
  • Experience working directly with banks and lenders
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Must be local to Fresno or within driving distance
  • Willing to attend in-person meetings as needed

  • Construction or home services industry experience
  • SBA lending familiarity
  • Multi-entity or job-costing experience
  • QuickBooks Online expertise

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain rolling 13-week cash flow forecasts
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasting models
  • Analyze margins by service line and improve profitability
  • Provide executive-level monthly reporting and financial insights
  • Develop KPI dashboards for leadership
  • Strengthen and manage relationships with local California banks and lenders
  • Prepare lender-ready financial packages
  • Support SBA, equipment financing, or credit facility conversations
  • Monitor loan covenants and debt schedules
  • Oversee bookkeeper/controller and improve monthly close process
  • Ensure accurate, timely financial statements
  • Improve chart of accounts and reporting structure
  • Build financial processes that scale with growth
  • Support pricing strategy and cost control initiatives
  • Improve overhead structure and operational efficiency
  • Help prepare company for future expansion or financing needs
