Job Summary: The Fractional CFO provides strategic financial leadership and advisory services to our clients, helping them drive growth, improve profitability, and strengthen financial operations. This role also plays a critical part in supporting the growth and development of the CFO practice within the firm. The Fractional CFO collaborates closely with client leadership, internal Controllers, and other CFOs to ensure consistent service delivery, effective reporting, and the highest level of client satisfaction. Exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive, ideally in advisory, consulting, or growth-stage business environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working cross-functionally to drive results.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and upskill other finance professionals and seek personal growth opportunities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple client engagements and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to standardize processes, improve reporting, and enhance overall service quality.
  • Business development acumen, including supporting client acquisition and upsell initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Executive-level CFO advisory services to clients, including financial strategy, forecasting, scenario planning, cash flow optimization. and other services included in the standard scope of work
  • Collaborate with internal or external Controllers to improve reporting to ensure clients receive high quality financial information that aligns and supports strategic initiatives
  • Support the growth of the CFO practice by: Engaging in new business opportunities and client upsells. Mentoring and upskilling other CFOs within the firm. Ensuring consistent messaging and approach across the practice. Contributing to the development and standardization of service delivery models. Participating in training sessions for personal skill improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and leadership, translating complex financial information into actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Actively participate in internal initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, team collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the practice.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with other Company employees.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Contribute to the professional culture within the office and the company overall.
  • Project a professional and appropriate Company image in all dealings with clients, vendors, business partners and visitors.
  • Ensure security of information in all matters pertaining to company, client, and consumer information
  • Support the efforts of senior management and sales staff by maintaining business network of contacts as clients change roles and/or companies.
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to travel to attend meetings occasionally if needed.
