Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Proven experience in guiding and influencing teams, either through direct supervision or indirect leadership.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, inspiring and influencing teams while promoting accountability.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver efficient project execution.
  • Ability to excel in high-pressure environments while maintaining a positive attitude and focus on results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, clear direction, and mentorship to the Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Champion the application of core engineering principles and best practices to drive operational excellence and technical rigor.
  • Develop and manage capital forecasts for projects, including capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and cost-reduction initiatives to maximize ROI.
  • Oversee the Process Engineering team to ensure timely and successful execution of projects and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering and Maintenance teams to align on shared goals and ensure seamless coordination.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices and driving cost-reduction efforts across the organization.
  • Take ownership of critical business projects, ensuring successful outcomes that meet organizational priorities.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across the organization.
