About The Position

The Customer Service Representative II at GDIT plays a crucial role in assisting customers with the installation and usage of transmission software, particularly for processing student financial aid data. This remote position involves providing knowledgeable support to Financial Aid Administrators and technical staff, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution while adhering to privacy regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Residency in Louisiana or Texas within a reasonable driving distance of 60 miles or less from a facility.
  • Willingness to work any full-time shift during hours of operation from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Central Standard Time.
  • Favorable status with Federal Student Loans.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting PCs running the Windows operating system.
  • Experience supporting Web-based applications strongly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide knowledgeable responses via phone and email to Financial Aid Administrators and technical staff members in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Acquire and maintain an understanding of various Department of Education software applications, processes, procedures, and websites.
  • Assist callers with software installation, configuration, usage, and un-installation.
  • Engage in active listening to diagnose problems and use various reference sources to lead callers to problem resolution.
  • Determine when issues need to be referred to tier two staff for resolution.
  • Adhere to the Privacy Act regarding confidentiality of information releases.
  • Accurately and efficiently maintain all required call logs and phone documentation.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance is maintained.
  • Handle light materials, boxes, or equipment as needed.
