About The Position

3rd shift FPI Inspector Level 2 Title: FPI Inspector - Level II Reader Status: Hourly Shift: 3rd, 10p- 2a Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to Finishing Area Manager Location: Mentor / RP, OH Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience. Must possess basic computer skills. Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/ quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Work Experience: Must have current (preferred) or previous FPI Level II certification and must document a completed organized training course per NAS-410. Experience applicable to the inspection of turbine components Principal Area of Responsibility: The FPI, Level II will perform fluorescent penetrant inspections on investment casting and will be required to interpret, evaluate and disposition the results in accordance with customer specification. Specific Duties: Incumbent must handle hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy. Be capable of providing the necessary guidance to trainees and Level I personnel. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors. Have thorough familiarity with the scope and limitations of the method and shall have the ability to apply detailed techniques to products and/or parts within his/her limit of qualifications. Organize and report test results. Know practical theory and be familiar with and able to use manuals and source books for assistance in utilizing techniques. Be aware of need for and the limitations of reference standards. Be familiar with the type and location of expected defects for the fabrication process used to make the parts. Set up and calibrate equipment. Be qualified to direct and carry out tests in the method certified. Be able to establish techniques and inspection method documents. Assure product is properly processed to the applicable method sheets. Perform additional duties assigned by Department Supervisor and/or the Level III. Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned. Physical and Mental Demands: Incumbent must physically and mentally perform the job demands as listed below. The ability to handle high stress associated with high activity with tight deadlines. Must be able to work overtime when required on different shifts. Pass visual acuity test with corrected or uncorrected vision. Pass the color perception test showing capability to distinguish and differentiate between colors used in the process involved Willing to devote personal time toward the study of all data required to pass a general, specific, and particle examine at intervals not exceeding 5 years.
