We are seeking a candidate with FPGA development experience to join the Physical Sciences & Systems (PS2) group in Cambridge, Massachusetts. What will you do Join a world-class team that works with a broad range of government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and have a real-world operational impact. The candidate will support state-of-the-art experimental testbeds for quantum information systems, integrated photonic systems, real-time sensor processing systems, and other physical sciences pursuits. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge in digital systems, HDL, signal processing, hands-on experience with development of real-time embedded systems, and willingness to support limited off-site testing. Knowledge of high-speed interfaces and experience developing in multiple programming domains, including RTL, VHDL, Verilog, and scripting languages is a plus.

The candidate will support state-of-the-art experimental testbeds for quantum information systems, integrated photonic systems, real-time sensor processing systems, and other physical sciences pursuits.

Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related discipline; or Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of experience.
Professional experience in FPGA development processes: RTL design, verification, timing analysis, lab bring up and validation
Understanding of DSP fundamentals and their implementation on FPGAs
Understanding of computing and processor architectures
Software development experience in C/C++
Python Scripting development experience (bash, Tcl, etc.)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Experience with SoC boards running bare metal code as well as configuring and deploying embedded Linux (e.g. Petalinux)
Experience with RFSoC boards and/or high-speed analog signal generation and digitization
Experience with high-speed interfaces, including experience in Ethernet, serial point to point communication (sFPDP, SPI), and high-speed memory interfaces (HBM2, DDR)
Familiarity with building Linux drivers for FPGA peripherals
Experience with high level synthesis tools, including BlueSpec System Verilog
Experience working with domain experts to define requirements and design systems to be used in experimental or operational environments
